Woodford Archers have been promoting archery excellence for over 50 years and we continue to support archery by providing courses for beginners. Our courses are run in our friendly and relaxed way and you can be assured of a warm welcome. All equipment is provided on these courses and all you need to bring is yourself.

Two different courses and Private Tuition are run at Woodford Archers:

  • A 6 weeks course is run in association with the Redbridge Adult Institute 3 times a year. These should be booked directly with the Redbridge Adult Institute (enquiries@redbridge-iae.ac.uk or telephone:020 8550 2398). The current cost of this course is £89.
  • There are occasional 4 weeks which are run directly by Woodford Archers, please email for availability.
  • Private tuition is also available, this always runs on a Friday evening, please email for details or to arrange.
  • Group / Corporate / Have-a-go days can also be arranged, please email for details.

Next Club Course:

4 WEEK CLUB COURSE:  Tuesday 31st August 10 - Tuesday 21st September 10. (Spaces.)

The cost for this course is £40 for adults and £30 for under 18's (although please note that we regret that we can not accept under 14's for teaching courses). *

The course runs on a Tuesday evening 7.15pm - 9.30pm. All equipment supplied.

Please email if you wish to enquire about a future course. Extra courses can be arranged if there is enough interest. Courses for groups/clubs/companies etc can also be booked with us.

* The course cost is non-refundable once there are less than 7 days to the course start date. If for any reason you find you are un-able to attend, please email as soon as possible so the appropriate action can be taken. This is also so we are able to offer the place to someone else. These courses can be booked via email ONLY, likewise, if you have any questions about these courses, please email.

PLEASE NOTE

4 week Courses, Private Tuition & Group/Corporate Days can only be booked online.

Next Redbridge Institute Course:

Dates for the Redbridge Institute of Adult Education courses are: - 

Tuesday 5th October - Tuesday 9th November 2010.

Please note:

  • Numbers are strictly limited on all courses, so please book early to avoid disappointment.
  • We regret that we can not offer teaching courses to children under the age of 14 at this time.
  • All the equipment you will require for one of our courses, including the bow, arrows and safety equipment, will be provided.
  • All bookings and enquiries for courses (with the exception of information pertaining to what you will learn or whether the course is suitable for you) should be made to Redbridge Adult Institute.

PLEASE NOTE

While we would be happy for you to come to the club to discuss taking an archery course, we ask that you contact us first to arrange a suitable time and date.

Arriving without making a prior arrangement can cause considerable disruption to those shooting and it is possible no one will be available to discuss archery with you.

After your lessons we would be delighted if you wish to join the club as a full member. Sometimes we have equipment available for you to hire to start you off. We would suggest that it is a very good idea to avoid buying any equipment until you have learnt a little about this traditional pastime as it is very likely you could make an expensive mistake!
