Today, Woodford Archers is a thriving club whose goal is to introduce as many people as possible to archery, and make it an enjoyable sport and fun for people of all ages. We shoot a number of disciplines including Target, Clout, and Field archery as well as less formal games like Archery Darts, Archery Golf and Roving. We also run archery courses on behalf of Redbridge Adult Evening Institute.

The club shoots on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday evenings, 7:30 until 9:30. Beginners have priority on Tuesday evenings alongside regular shooting.

Shoots often take place on weekends especially through the summer months. In addition Frostbite shoots sometimes take place in late winter/spring.

We shoot at the Whitbread Sports Field, Durham Row, just off Durham Avenue, Woodford Green, Essex. Indoor shooting at 15 yards takes place all year, while in good weather there is the use of the field for shooting at longer distances. There is a large free car park next to the building.

The nearest underground is Roding Valley station (0.6 miles) on the Central Line or Woodford (0.75 miles) also on the Central Line. Trains are more frequent to Woodford as Roding Valley is the last station on a loop; it is quicker to walk the extra 0.15 miles from Woodford! Roding Valley is in Zone 5 whereas Woodford is in Zone 4.

Please visit the Transport for London website to plan your journey by public transport.

Please note that we would ask anyone wanting to come to the club not to arrive without having first contacted us to arrange a suitable time and date.

Arriving without making a prior arrangement can cause considerable disruption to those shooting and it is possible no one will be available to discuss archery with you.
